Ruling planets

KSK’s distinctive tool (KP Reader VI): at any moment of judgment, a small set of planets rules the moment, and their agreement with a chart’s significators confirms — or withholds — what the chart promises. The ruling planets are:

Some practitioners add the Lagna sub lord — KSK treated it as optional, and so does this app (a setting). Two conventions matter and are handled for you: the Hindu day runs sunrise to sunrise, so a pre-dawn judgment keeps the previous weekday’s lord; and a node standing in for a ruling planet — by conjunction, sign or aspect — is itself ruling, and KSK held the agent stronger than the planet it represents.

RPs also power birth-time rectification: scan candidate birth times and keep those whose lagna star and sub lords appear among the ruling planets of the moment you are rectifying — KSK’s own method, which the Rectify wizard automates.
