Everything stays on your device

Taraved is a fully client-side application. Birth details, horary questions, saved charts, judgments, notes and settings are stored in your browser’s local storage on this device — and nowhere else.

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no server that knows who you are.
• No uploads. Charts are computed in your browser by the Swiss Ephemeris running in WebAssembly. Birth data is never sent over the network — not even for geocoding: the city atlas is bundled with the app and searched locally.
• No trackers. No analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no third-party requests of any kind.

You hold the only copy

Because nothing is uploaded, clearing your browser data deletes your charts. Use Settings to export everything as a JSON file you own, to import it on another device, or to wipe this device completely. Export and wipe are always available and work offline.

Data sources and licences

Planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris (Astrodienst AG, AGPL-3.0-or-later), running entirely in your browser. City coordinates and timezone identifiers come from GeoNames, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Historical timezone offsets come from the IANA time zone database.
