Significator theory

A house’s matters are delivered by its significators. KP grades them by strength (KP Reader II/VI), and the ordering encodes KP’s core claim: the star lord outranks the planet itself.

  1. A — planets in the stars of the occupants of the house
  2. B — the occupants themselves
  3. C — planets in the stars of the owners of the house
  4. D — the owners themselves

Occupancy is by Placidus cusp-span, not by sign: a planet occupies the house whose cusp-to-next-cusp arc contains it. Rahu and Ketu own no signs, so they signify by agency — for the lord of the sign they occupy, for planets they conjoin, and for planets aspecting them — inheriting the represented planet’s grade.

The fruitful filter

Signifying is not delivering. A significator is fruitful for a matter only if its own sub lord is not a significator of the houses that negate the matter (marriage 2-7-11 is negated by 1-6-10, and so on). This is the step between “connected to the question” and “will actually give it”.

An honest caveat: the classical wording does not say at what strength the sub lord must signify a negating house. Read literally, any grade negates (our default); read as strong significators only (A/B), far more planets stay fruitful — on some charts the two readings flip every verdict. The toggle is exposed wherever the filter appears, and settling it against KP Reader VI is an open item.
